Last week we looked at a short video of crime writers discussing research. This week the video I’ve watched is whether or not they know they ending of the novel they’re writing as they set out from the start. There are some interesting answers. A clip that I think will please all, because it again shows there are no right or wrong ways to novel writing, it’s what works for you.
If you write, do you generally know the ending as you start out?
What interesting clips! I love how everyone’s method is different. I particularly liked the driving in the dark analogy.
I love having found the joy of YouTube. I just don’t know what took me so long!
Great footage, Rebecca – interesting how many don’t seem to know!
It makes me feel better about my own writing methods! 🙂
Rebecca – This is really interesting! Thanks! As you say, there is no one right way to go about plotting…
Clips like this are so enlightening in this way aren’t they 🙂
I love the mix of different approaches! Thanks for sharing. Loving these clips x
They’re great aren’t they 🙂 It does make me feel better about my own writing process, seeing that the pro’s all do it so differently.
It depends on the writer. I’d want to know the ending or I wouldn’t know where to go.
You’re so right, it absolutely does depend on the writer and that’s what’s so great about these clips. It shows us that we are in fact, all doing it right so long as it’s working for us 🙂
Gone Girl–what an amazing book that was. It still haunts me.
I haven’t read it. I must be in the minority though.
I always know the ending – it’s the middle that gives me fits!
Middles are awful!
