Rules For Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson
Eight classic murders.
A single crime obsessive.
Countless thrilling twists.
A series of unsolved murders with one thing in common: each of the deaths bears an eerie resemblance to the crimes depicted in classic mystery novels.
The deaths lead FBI Agent Gwen Mulvey to mystery bookshop Old Devils. Owner Malcolm Kershaw had once posted online an article titled ‘My Eight Favourite Murders,’ and there seems to be a deadly link between the deaths and his list – which includes Agatha Christie’s The ABC Murders, Patricia Highsmith’s Strangers on a Train and Donna Tartt’s The Secret History.
Can the killer be stopped before all eight of these perfect murders have been re-enacted?
Thank you all for voting.
The date of the first virtual online video meeting is Monday 20th April at 8 pm GMT. (Please use an online calculator to work out what time this will be if you’re not living in the UK and are on a different time zone – we’d still love for you to join us!)
I’d hope to keep the meeting at about 40 minutes so it’s not too long and drawn out, but I imagine this depends on how many people actually turn up as we want to allow everyone chance to talk.
Please don’t worry how we’re going to do this yet, I’m looking into it and will update you long before the meeting date so you have chance to download or sign up to whatever software we choose.
I’m really excited about this and as you may have noticed, have only given everyone three weeks to read the book instead of a month as I think, with us all being confined to house, we’re able to read the book in that timeframe and more importantly, we’re all desperately looking forward to a group online gathering to discuss it.
Don’t forget if you would usually obtain the book from a library to see if they have the book at BorrowBox. But, if you’re buying the kindle version, it is only 0.99 at the moment HERE. (This is an affiliate link, but on a 0.99 book I won’t earn much. But if we decide to go with the Zoom software it’s likely I’ll have to pay a monthly fee.)
See you all soon!
This is going to be great! Thanks for putting it together, Rebecca!
Just ordered book!
Thank you xx
Thanks, Rebecca x
I had my doubts about Zoom security etc. but so far it’s worked OK for my writing group and also for another book club I attended. I think for more widely publicised events it can get gatecrashed with people shouting racist stuff etc. but they’ve now introduced meeting passcodes. 40 mins is free, by the way, so a good way to test the waters.
I have the book on my Kindles, so raring to go!
