Today I’m pleased to welcome Rachel Dove to the blog to talk about the three books that have shaped her.
Rachel is the winner of the Prima/Mills & Boon Flirty Fiction Competition 2015 and now writes for HQ Digital and Manatee Books. She lives in West Yorkshire with her young family and writes full time. She is the winner of the Writers Bureau Writer of the Year Award 2016 and is currently working on her sixth novel.
1. What’s the first book you remember reading?
I always remember Sleeping Beauty from Ladybird books. My mother used to buy one for me every week at the supermarket and we sat and read them together. I still love that story even now. Fairy tales hold a lot of appeal to me, and I love the modern takes on them.
2. What book will always stay with you and why?
A tricky one, because one any given day my answer would probably change. I would probably choose The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It is both beautiful and brutal, and it haunted me for a long time after.
3. One book you are looking forward to reading?
The Party by Lisa Hall – out in 2018. I love her books, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a cracker.

The Long Walk Back
Does everyone deserve a second chance?
As an army trauma surgeon Kate knows how to keep her cool in the most high pressure of situations. Although back at home in England her marriage is falling apart, out in the desert she’s happy knowing that she’s saving lives.
Until she meets Cooper. It’s up to Kate to make a split-second decision to save Cooper’s life. Yet Cooper doesn’t want to be saved. Can Kate convince him to give his life a second chance even though its turning out dramatically different from how he planned?
