This #weekendcoffeeshare is the brainchild of PartTimeMonster. We sit down every weekend and share our week. Feel free to join in.
If we were having my usual cup of tea, I’d tell you we were drinking it sat in my bedroom where I’m flat on my back where I have been since yesterday afternoon. I’m writing this on my phone and you’d have pulled up a chair. I’m not sharing my bed!
I’d ask you how you are? How your week has been? I’m interested. We all live a massively wide variety of lives away from these blogs and it’s lovely to hear about them.
I’ve had a good week but yesterday the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) caught up with me and the faulty, wobbly joint at my neck/head has decided to play up quite badly. It means lots of pain. In my neck, back of my head, front of my head. Nausea. I rest. Sleep. Lay and wish this wasn’t me but it is and hopefully it will pass soon if I rest the joint by laying here. I think I got too confident in the neck collar I wear. I think it was sitting up for hours on end at the hospital with my daughter and then not resting this past week that has caught up with me. But I’ll be up again soon.
I was up earlier this week though and I do have good news to share. As you know from an earlier post this week, I popped into my local library and asked if they’d stock my self-published book and they told me to come back and speak to the manager on Thursday. Well I did. I was terrified and put it off all morning, not going up until lunchtime but I needn’t have worried. She was lovely.
She is going to not only stock my book but she wants me to do talks in the – I can’t remember if she said she manages three or four libraries! She also said it can be ordered by any library in the county once it’s logged in to their system and can be ordered by other counties they are in a pool with!
I was on cloud nine. She held my book. Read the blurb and said she wanted to read it. This all made me feel more like a ‘real author’. I’ll be in a bricks and mortar library. So I did have a good week.
And on that note, I want to share this with you (and this I have to get out of bed to add because I can’t do it from my phone!) because it’s about looking at our lives from not just a place of need, but happiness. It’s Happy Maps and it’s not very long. And for me, someone who can be confined to bed at the drop of a hat, I think this is important. Enjoy this and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Mmm, back to bed and my phone. The video can’t be embedded but this is the link. Please have a look. It’s about when you are traveling from one place to another. Our lives need to be happy…
