This is a quick post to let you know that I want to breathe new life into the blog. For far too long now I have let it trundle along and rather fester and go downhill. It used to be a fairly active busy blog with lots of content but I let it slide. What, with ill-health and being busy writing, the blog took a bit of a back seat. But, I do happen to actually like the blog and have a list of subjects I want to blog about, that I just haven’t got around to writing.
So, now I have managed to get some routine into my writing, I am going to try to get some routine into my blogging.
You will see the weekly Writing Crime post on a Monday.
The weekly 3 Books post on a Tuesday.
I shall attempt to revive the Revisions post – this is a spin-off of the popular First Draft series I did, where (mostly crime) writers talked about their first draft process. Well, the revisions posts are where I’m going to delve into their – you guessed it, their revisions process. These shall be posted, as the first draft posts were, on a Friday.
And between those, I have ideas for other posts I want to write. Just to fill the blog with interesting content. I’ll talk more personally about myself and about where I am in my writing process and my health. I have a couple of posts I want to write about social media and books that I have run polls for on Twitter and Facebook. I’ll talk more about books I’ve read – without being a reviewer I’ll share what I’ve enjoyed recently. I don’t think I should review books as I write, but I don’t mind letting you know what I’ve read and enjoyed.
I’m also going to respond to comments in a more timely manner. Again health and time have made this something I haven’t been great at doing.
I’m excited to revive the blog and am looking forward to seeing you more often!
This all sounds great, Rebecca, and I look forward to what you share with us! I’m glad your health is letting yo do a few more things.
Thanks, Margot. It’s all about pacing for me. If I pace correctly I can spend some time at my laptop. It depends how much time I need to spend on my writing…
I’m happy with whatever we can get from you, although your writing and your health must take precedence!
Thanks, Marina. Yes, everything is dictated by my health but I’m getting better at pacing and this is having a positive affect on my writing. I’m managing to be quite productive. So, I’m hoping I can stretch it just a little to my blog…
I always look forward to your posts, Rebecca and am forever struck by just how productive you are on this front as well as with your novel-writing. I do hope things get easier – take care.
Thanks, Clare. It’s all in the pacing. I am getting better at it. Figuring out a routine that works for me. I’m getting to grips with it which is why I now think I can add a little blog time in. Finger crossed!
