We all use social media in our everyday lives, but do you ever stop to wonder just how integrated it is within that life it actually is? Or how impactive social media can be, a power for good, for the not so good and for anything you turn your hand to …
Here are some scary statistics to get your head around.

Rebecca – Thanks for sharing this. It’s astounding to think how fast social media has grown as a way of communicating with others. And using it is easier than ever!
Rebecca Bradley says
We know it’s a part of our lives, but to see it in statistics like this is just astounding isn’t it 🙂

There was a lot there, but–oh my–78% of people trust peer recommendations. No wonder writers worry about Amazon reviews!

Social media isn’t a fad but there are fads within it. People seem to grow more comfortable with it each year, experimenting with it and such. Everyone was predicting that Facebook would go the way of MySpace after a few years but I think Facebook has proven that prediction wrong!
Rebecca Bradley says
Facebook has definitely proven them wrong, though I think a lot of people are unsettled within Facebook due to the changes that keep happening, but no one wants to leave because there isn’t a social network similar enough to match it.

Wow, that’s eye-opening, isn’t it?! I’m going to share this at school with my fellow teachers. I’ve been a huge advocate of the “Bring Your Own Device” campaign in the district . . . we need to change with the times, whether we like it or not!
Rebecca Bradley says
I’d love to know what your fellow teachers said about this because the statistics are really overwhelming. It’s part of our everyday lives but we just don’t realise how much until we see something like this.
