As discussed at the last Crime book club meeting in May, as July is Theakston’s Crime writing Festival in Harrogate and the crime novel of the year is decided in time for opening night, we thought we would read one of the listed novels in July.
We originally decided that we would read two from the long-list and one from the short list, but as the short-list isn’t announced until the 1st of July I’m conscious of how short a period of time we would then have to vote on the three nominated novels and then read one before the July meeting which is the third Wednesday of the month as usual and is Wednesday 16th July. So I have made the decision that we will nominate three books from the long-list and then vote in time for next weeks book club meeting so we have a choice to read in time for July’s meeting. (How fast is this year going?!)
And talking of the festival – do you think I will be able to get any impromptu YouTube video interviews for the blog while I’m there??
Anyway, I’d love you to nominate for this. The ones with the most votes will make it to the top three to be voted on in time for Wednesday. Make sure you are signed up to the Newsletter Here and you will get the info straight to your inbox and you can reply via email straight away.

I also nominate Rubbernecker – simply because I haven’t read it and have heard such great things about it. Another alternative would be Denise Mina.

I’ve read quite a few of these so I’m going to nominate one I haven’t. Dying Fall by Elly Griffith

Rebecca, I haven’t read any of these authors which makes me wonder what I’m reading. But I’d be interested to know who gets nominated.
