Last Tuesday I attended the launch of Mel Sherratt’s novel, Watching Over You. I met Mel about 3 years ago through Twitter and we became friends, meeting up quickly afterwards at Harrogate Crime Writing Festival. I’ve spent many an hour talking with her about books, publishing and our love of crime fiction. When she achieved her dream of being traditionally published after successfully self publishing, I was thrilled and honoured to be there on her very proud launch night. It was an emotional evening for Mel and it really was wonderful to see how happy she was. Isn’t our love of books and how we share that, just a beautiful thing?
Here is a little snapshot of the evening. The first launch party I’ve been to and I loved every minute!

What an honour to attend and how amazing is social media for you to have met someone and become such great friends. Looks like it was a great night.
