Last night saw the third meeting for the online crime book club. I was thrilled with the turn out as I’d changed the date at short notice due to work commitments. So thank you to members who still logged in!
We discussed White Heat by MJ McGrath.
The consensus of the group was that it was a great read. The frozen setting and the Inuit life giving a unique and fresh – if rather chilly – look at crime fiction. The protagonist, Edie, was well liked and all characters fleshed out and believable. All members said they would definitely read the next in the series.

I did make an error last night. It was caused by my muddled brain due to this course that work have me on. I said I hadn’t sorted voting choices for November’s read so we discussed options and a decision was made that we would make November Australia themed. The error is that I did put voting choices up very early in October, but because we didn’t have a massive vote on them and all members were happy with the options last night, we will stick with the Australia options and I will slide the other books in somewhere in the coming months.
Three books were nominated and you can vote on those in the comments section. Because of the short notice, I am going to close the vote on Thursday evening at 8 p.m. GMT, so if you want a say, get voting!

The Dying Beach by Angela Savage

I’d like to read all three but am going to go with the one that sounds as if it may have a slight edge of humour to it – Diamond Dove. I did see a November post up on here yesterday Rebecca and wondered if that was the voting post that I had somehow missed but when I clicked onto it I saw White Heat on it so I presumed you had put November in the post header instead of October. I am pleased that it was somehow missed though because I quite like the way we have a theme for November! Can we have a Christmas theme for December? 🙂 *hides*
This book club is going to do my TBR pile no good Denyse, because every month I want to read all three! 🙂
And yes, I’ll look for Christmas themed books for December 🙂
