I spent most of yesterday in a state of sheer frustration as I wrangled with settings for the crime book club newsletter. I imagine that once I have become used to it, all will be simple, but yesterday it was far from simple.
I thought that having a newsletter would be helpful. A way of letting members of the book club know what we’re reading, what the choices are and how the book club meeting went, without having to spend time searching it all out online. I wasn’t prepared for my lack of technical know-how.
It may be a work in progress for a couple of months, but I signed up myself yesterday and it seemed to run smoothly. I just need to figure out how to send emails to people as they join in a staggered motion rather than on a set date so no-one misses anything.
For anyone who missed the initial post about the book club, the read for August is Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. After that it will be down to nominations and votes.
I look forward to seeing those who want to, at the online meetings and if you fancy it, you can now sign up for the newsletter on the link below!

Given your link a little roadtest, well done for persevering, it works! I’ve always meant to use Mail Chimp for newsletters and the suchlike, was there a fee involved at all? x

Thank you Yasmin! There is no fee for Mailchimp, but you are restricted to 12,000 mailings a month….. You can pay for a higher service, but I’m not sure I’ll be needing it!
