Today’s post is short (I’m getting tired now!) and light.
Pinterest! I’m sure you’ve heard of it. In fact I’m sure if you’ve even looked at it, you are already addicted. I know I am. I go in fits and starts. I can’t stay off it, or I manage to wean myself away for a couple of weeks, then go back again. I’m not even sure why. I just love looking at the pretty pictures. That’s it. As simple as that. Pretty pictures. After all my talk yesterday, here I am turning into a real girl! Put something pretty and shiny in front of me and I’m all a oooh.
But, apparently, Pinterest is a good social network to get into. Apparently it can be really helpful to widen your social reach if that’s what you’re interested in. I’m not sure how because all I do is look at pretty pictures. But. “They” say it does. So, on that note, as I was messing around in my WordPress control panel at the weekend – I can’t remember what I was looking for – I found some little share buttons that I hadn’t added, for the bottom of blog posts. One of those not added buttons was Pinterest. It is now added. So should you feel like sharing a blog post on your Pinterest board, you can.
Me? I’m there for the girly pictures.

Great – you’re on the home stretch now. I daren’t go there, especially when I’m not well. But it does look intriguing and, as you say, addictive – I’m a terror for picture-surfing!
It’s useful to know blogs can be shared that way. I hadn’t looked into it properly yet but thought it was restricted to pictures. I know many who love it and it’s a split between the boys and the girlies! Thanks. *adds button* ๐ x

I do have an account on Pinterest and I do post to it, mainly book covers and blurbs, but I haven’t really worked out the social side of it yet.

I’ve still not joined lol

Rebecca – A good topic! I’ve joined Pinterest and I find it useful for some things. I admit I haven’t done much there yet, but you’ve reminded me that I ought to use the network. People really are affected by the visual.

I haven’t quite figured out how to expand my social network with Pintrest but the pictures are beautiful. I use it to flesh out the scenes in my head and get ideas for settings and details. I set up boards for each of my characters where I put wardrobe ideas and little details from their lives.

I signed up for Pinterest a while back but for the longest time I really couldn’t see the point of it and hardly ever went on it. But then I went back to it and now I’m totally addicted! Love it.

I have a Pinterest account and I mostly share food pictures because YUMMY! I do have a board for one of my characters, but I don’t post there much. Like you, I’m not really sure how to use it to network.

I stayed away from Pinterest for a long time, but then the idea came to me to create one for my book series (I actually have a post coming out for “P” about it at 9 AM), and see if it helps as a social media avenue. I’m honestly not even sure how to use it as a social media channel other than sharing it, but we will see.
The reason I stayed away before now is because I am fairly certain I would get immersed in the pretty pictures myself!

I’ve heard of it of course, never looked at it. I’m on the computer so much I don’t need yet another site to spend time with. Thanks for the comment on my post ๐
Linda King says
I’ve resisted Pinterest because I know so many people who are addicted! I don’t need another another form of procrastination…

When I first heard about Pinterest I kind of rolled my eyes. Another social media site? But now I’m addicted. It’s amazing!

I love Pinterest! ๐ I just have to be careful that I don’t spend an entire evening playing on my boards.
Alex J. Cavanaugh says
I keep hearing about it but haven’t joined. Not sure I’d have time to make it effective.

Pinterest is fun but I’m still not quite sure I get it, if you know what I mean. I’m not sure what it’s really for, other than looking at prettiness. Maybe that’s enough!

I’ve been warned Pinterest is addictive! So of course I signed up, but I haven’t had time to navigate it much. Maybe I know myself too well!

Fellow Pinterest addict here too. I currently have 77 boards – I can think of a few more I ‘need’ too ;o)

I haven’t joined yet, Bec. One day when I have time to really get into it I certainly will ๐

Although I’ve joined Pinterest, I haven’t done anything on it yet. I can see how easy it would be to spend hours on it. I fact, I think I can hear it calling me… ๐ xx

I’ve been to several webpages because a google search led me to pintrest, which took me elsewhere. I was a rebel, and didn’t intend to start pinning, but when I stumbled across historical costuming I needed to reference for one story, well, all inhibition went out the window. Pinterest is awesome.

The idea of a visual internet really appeals to me. I’m less about the pretty stuff and cute animals, but its also great for looking through infographics. Then I can pretend I’m learning stuff.
