This is a regular book related Tuesday Meme hosted at The Broke and the Bookish which I am going to do here. There is a different Top Ten every Week. You love books, why not give it a go?
This week it’s; Books From My Childhood (Or teen years) That I Would Love To Revisit. You will see there is a real mix in there. When I was trying to remember what I read I was surprised by what a mixture of books were in there. As for Jilly Cooper’s, Riders, well, all that sex and mischief…. I adored it as a teenager!
What did you enjoy and what would you go back and read now?

I don’t usually re-read books, but I have gone back and read Brooks’ Sword of Shannara trilogy.

What a lovely mix of stories, Rebecca!! I remember reading several of them myself. I remember when I re-discovered The Secret Garden as I read it with my daughter – a special time!

Nancy Drew – yep and I loved The Hidden Staircase particularly – not sure why. And Agatha Christie – I didn’t read her until my late teens and after, but such fun. And Flowers in the Attic – my goodness, what a stir that one was when it first came out. Shocking! Funny now to think about it.
I went to my teen years too for my list and had such a good time with it.

When I got to Riders I had to go back and check the title of the list. Glad you put ‘teens’ in brackets 🙂

I wish I had gotten into Nancy Drew, I have a feeling I would have loved it. I was way into the cult of Goosebumps, but also into Narnia, Railway Children, Matilda, and Archie comics.

Nancy Drew–yes, a favorite. I also remember reading the entire series of Cherry Ames, Student Nurse. That was fifty years ago. I was surprised to see they’re still being published.

I remember Sparkling Cyanide as being the only AC I ever managed to figure out – I was so pleased with myself! I think I read most of these. A big one in my school – Sophie Macé stole it from her parents’ bookshelf – was Valley Of The Dolls. It was passed around all three of us “loser swat” girls within the week!

Great post! I too loved Charlotte’s Web, The Secret Garden and Nancy Drew. I also loved A Little Princess, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables and anything involving ghosts!
